Common Questions
What software components are included?
Our stack includes DVB, DVB-NIP,, DSM-CC, HbbTV 2.0.4, CI Plus 1.4 and 2.0 and ATSC 1.0 and 3.0. All components are available as source code and ready for integration into commercial products.
How is the software licensed?
Members receive unlimited, royalty-free access to the full source code. You can use, modify, and distribute the binaries without any per-unit or runtime fees.
What platforms does DTVKit support?
Our components are platform-agnostic and currently support Android TV, RDK, and hybrid white-label solutions. The software can also be ported to Linux and other embedded systems.
How quickly can I get started once I join?
Once your membership is confirmed and onboarding is complete, you’ll receive immediate access to the full DTVKit source code repository and documentation. Most members are up and running within a few days.
Is the software updated regularly?
Yes. Our components are actively maintained, with updates provided in line with industry standards, security improvements, and platform changes.
Do I need to be a DVB or ATSC member to use DTVKit?
No. DTVKit is an independent organisation. While we align with DVB and ATSC standards, there is no requirement for your company to be a member of those bodies to use our software.
