Bristol, UK, 4th March 2020 – DTVKit announced today that it has integrated its DVB core software components into the open source RDK software platform used by leading video and broadband service providers around the globe. It will be widely available in Q2, 2020.
DTVKit is a shared source community, offering a suite of market proven DTV software components to its members, comprising of DVB, MHEG, and CI Plus software stacks. The first stage integration will run RDK with DVBCore integrated, decoding and displaying content using a Satellite (DVB-S) tuner.
RDK is an open source software platform for the connected home that standardizes core functions used in broadband, video and IoT connected devices. It enables service providers to manage their devices; control their business models; and customize their apps, UI’s and data analytics to improve the customer experience and drive business results.

DTVKit plans to release its RDK version of DVBCore code to its member community in Q2 of this year. DTVKit works to ensure its solutions are kept up to date with the latest market requirements, to maximise the benefit to its members.
