Happy New Year! Last year we had a tremendous year in reaching significant milestones in terms of development and progression. Our key highlights from 2018 include Android TV integration, CI+ 1.4 ECP, collaborating with HARMAN and OBS for full Android TV support, and our collaboration with ACCESS, EKT and HiSilicon to create a customisable set-top-box platform. We aim to hit the ground running with 2019, and we have lots of projects in the pipeline to make this our best year yet…
DTVKit Test Streams
Our first goal this year is to implement our very own test streams fully, this is something which we have wanted to do for a long time. We are hoping the implementation of our test streams will have a huge benefit for our members and us, resulting in members saving time, money and resources.
CI+2.0
In 2018, OBS donated their CI+1.4 ECP stack to the DTVKit community. This has now allowed our members to benefit from improved levels of security and robustness, for the protection of premium UHD content. Now we have our sights on CI+ 2.0, which we are hoping will be fully implemented by the end of summer.
Amlogic porting layer
Last year we were very excited to welcome new members Amlogic to our DTVKit community. We are hoping to be able to offer members an Amlogic porting layer in 2019; we do not have a set date yet, but we will keep you posted on any updates….
Multi-Process RPC wrapper for DVB core
Our next objective is to create a multi-process RPC wrapper for DVB resulting in making our software more versatile and broadening our services. We aim to achieve this by the end of 2019.
Android TV
We are still committed to our Android TV development, and we see this an essential factor within the industry that is here to stay for the long run. That is why we are continuing to invest time and resources in researching and implementing new Android features. We are hoping to integrate PVR, MHEG and CI+ ECP certification into Android TV this year.
We are hoping 2019 will be like 2018 full of progress and development for DTVKit. We would like to thank all of our members for their continued support, and we look forward to working with you in 2019.
