Sony Implements Google Assistant into Selected Products
Sony Europe has selected some of their Sony 4K HDR TV’s with Android TV to have the Google Assistant built in. It is being implemented first in the UK with more countries to follow later this year.
Google Assistant integration will allow viewers to gain quick access to films, music and other content. It will also control smart home devices, and search for information like sports scores, via their Sony Android TV and voice-operated remote control.
Sony Plans to Launch this in UK by End of this Month
Google Assistant will be on Sony’s AF8, XF90, XF85, XF80 and XF75 series TVs in the UK this week and expects to have finished this by the end of the month. Sony then plans to launch Google Assistant in France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
With an exceptional level of voice operation, the Google Assistant enhances the entertainment experience and serves as a smart home hub to more than 1,500 compatible smart home devices from over 225 popular brands. This includes light and thermostat control through simple commands, such as ‘turn off the kitchen lights’ or ‘set the thermostat to 20 degrees.’ As well as talking to the television to play your favourite song or to simply check what the weather is going to be like for the day or week!
